Why is it that no one ever understands anything I say…no one seems to care.
Why does all this world seem to be against me so inveriably?
What makes the world go 'round does not necessarily work for you,
So why, I ask should you pressure me to work to achieve the impossible too?
How do you expect me to learn; to grow with the coming spring,
When you, yourself cannot shake that oh so infinite dream?
How do you reason this, I ask… what logic do you see,
That I should struggle, to be what I cannot be?
When does the world turn upon itself and ponder this evening tide,
Asking who are we and why are we here; from whence do we reside?
Do not criticize me for who I am,
Do not attempt to suppress my true being and expressive mind.
Do not criticize.
I am a writer, a painter, a sculptor,
I am a musician, an artist, a member of society,
Whether you like it or not, that is who I am.
Do not criticize to merely, fit-in;
Have your own opinions; I do not care
Whether you accept or reject, but do not judge on mob-opinion.
But, do not criticize the slight of hand, regurgitating thought to all the world;
No, instead, advise, request, be of kind humor;
Negativity never amounted to much good.
Do not criticize.
Whatever beliefs you feel necessary, keep them to yourself;
Do n
It is believed that a certain persona be held from a resolved or newly begun conflict. However, the black and white areas of treaty and excessive force cannot compare to the great expanse of gray areas that all of us are so used to seeing. More than those gray places however, outside the lines and limitations of society, life coexists with death in the ever-changing natural world. This is the society of the large and small—the self-governing nation of the Earth. This is most commonly referred to as the animal kingdom and the plant kingdom, for the plants and animals (along with the other three or four other kingdoms), rule as independent
It was a stormy night about three to four hundred years ago, just off the coast of Ireland when tragedy struck the land. As the crew was hauling in the nets, as mariners do, hand o'er hand, a sudden flash caught the captain's eye, it was indeed the piece of the long forgotten Spanish merchant ship, the Santa Fe, twas her wheel in fact, the very wheel which the old captain himself had used to steer the vessel to an untimely grave against the rocks. It is said that the crew put a curse on the captain and ship, for they were most certainly not going to survive the dilemma. As the crew hauled in this strange artifact, it was evident that the w
Natural history is what existed before man existed and crapped all over nature. Now we have nature in its' own little corner of the world in a huge filling cabinet. Now we study nature, we take it out of the nice, neat little filing cabinet and say "Oh, how pretty," look at it for five minutes, and put it back in the filing cabinet, because we don't nature now. Why? Because the human mind has evolved so much that man can control whether he breathes oxygen or carbon dioxide, so we don't need the plants any more; oh, yes and we humans—after being subject to the greenhouse effect and global warming and UV rays for generations, humans have fi
As the last trumpet blows,
As the last horn rings,
As the last key knows,
As the last bow sings,
War is gone forevermore,
Hurray, they shout: It's the time before.
The trumpet awakes,
The horn is found,
The key unlocks,
The bow's sweet sound,
And so, the warring powers fight,
Though war has gone forevermore.
Trumpet quakes, earth shakes;
Horn mourns, sky is torn;
Key forgets, life regrets;
Bow silent, journey done.
He crouches in the grasses,
He runs in open lands,
He has a striped coat,
And furry, paw-like hands
He waits, watches, listens
Carefully to the roaring winds
And then he pounces on his prey
With force and awful might
So that they will remember
The tiger late last night.
Why does mankind seek destruction instead of renewal?
Why do the heavens seem to vanish from city view?
Why to creatures great and small does pain always abound?
Why do answers present themselves long after the questions are forgotten?
Why can we not see the historical mistakes of centuries past in the actions of today?
What do we really know about this blue-green orb hurtling through space?
...So, 7-odd years on, I am back with access to my account. In the interim, I attempted and failed a few times, but basically, for a long while, writing took a backseat to photography, painting, and drawing/sketching/etc. I've completed my undergrad and an MSc. I'm off to volunteer on an organic/biodynamic farm as of Tuesday in exchange for room and board, and will be heading back to the US from the UK, where I've been for the last year and a bit some time at the start of December. My feline companions have changed, Ty and Mo falling ill and passing on, Jess and Lex coming along a few years later. Things have been hectic for the last whi
Today's just a quote, cause it's awesome & I don't have any words of wisdom to espouse to the populous.
...Anyway, the quote:
If I do not what you want, please try not to tell me that my want is wrong.
Or if I believe other than you, at least pause before you correct my view.
Or if my emotion is less than yours, or more, given the same circumstances, try not to ask me to feel more strongly or weakly.
Or yet if I act, or fail to act, in the manner of your design for action, let me be.
I do not, for the moment at least, ask you to understand me. That will come only when you are willing to give up changing me into a copy of you.
